Tony Award Predictions – The Musical Categories

Kinky Boots

With the Tony Awards coming up this weekend, on Saturday I made my predictions for the Play categories; now it’s time for the Musicals.

While I wasn’t dazzled by the play offerings this season, there were two musicals this year that blew me away — Kinky Boots and especially Pippin’. I’m rooting for both shows, and especially Billy Porter, who deserves his moment of triumph on stage with a Tony Award in his hand.

In addition to indicating who I think will and should win the top prizes, I’ve also included a “Should Have Been Nominated” section, which is not limited to shows that were eligible for the big prize (in other words, I included Off-Broadway shows in this category).

Agree with my choices? Disagree? Let me know!
